Tried this fix, didn't work. Just ran the ExeFile from the bin folder and it worked. This launcher stuff is just ridiculous. |

Not sure Steam could support multiboxing. Steam has become such a PIA intrusive ***** lately that I keep it turned off.
Multiboxing is not a first concern, and never should it be. And How is it intrusive? It's a global patcher for most games.
Wait...multiboxing isn't a concern in Eve? The fact that almost everyone in Eve has an alt account sure fooled me. |

Nice fail as all time since Apocrypha. This game was fine with apocrypha patch. From this one its goes just to worser and worser game.
I agree. This game is worser now. |

Yeah, this isn't nearly as bad as EA. Still kinda silly though. |

Of course Multiboxing should be a first concern. Over half the subscribers in eve have more than one account.
And? It's not like CCP cares one way or the other. They only care that you pay for two subscriptions, besides, I can't play the game right now at all and that's what matters. Don't be a **** thinking about your third account while people are still waiting to get in with their first account. If CCP really cares about multiboxing players, you're seriously going to argue that steam users are supposed to get shafted because some idiot doesn't want to play with other people? Learn to be nice to the other players in this game, we all want to play, and I want support for the steam version of the game. Yet CCP has literally put no time or effort into putting the game into steam at all... I CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD INFERNO. There's a problem when the version of the game from steam is still Inferno, it needs CCP to actually pay somebody to take care of it, or fire the idiot in charge of it.
Your argument against alts is that people should be social so that others will do stuff for them? I know plenty of very social people in game with 3+ accounts. It's just easier to have alts to do specific tasks instead of waiting on someone else to do them. It's a game of multiboxing, deal with it. |

Our engineers have been investigating the issue with top priority and when this was written the investigation remains underway and will continue until the problem has been identified and services have been fully restored. On May 21 we also deployed EVE Online: Retribution 1.2.4 and the new EVE Launcher. These deployments are not believed to have caused the underlying problem but are believed to have affected its manifestation. Updating the Launcher or the client requires connecting to our currently overloaded web servers and as a result, EVE Online players may not be able to either properly update your EVE Online client, the EVE Launcher, or connect properly to the Tranquility server to play EVE Online. For anyone experiencing any of the above issues we would like to point out to this thread for further explanations and potential workarounds. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences caused by these unexpected server issues." http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/eve-online-news/eve-launcher-issues-and-solutions/There is the link for that page. There is also a work around that has been stressed till balls turned blue in this forum. Here it is: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238230&find=unread
They're claiming that the launcher update didn't cause this, but it seems like everyone who bypasses it using ExeFile can log in fine (which they say should be affected as well). I call shenanigans.
Also, to people likening this to boot.ini, is your OS still working? Yes? Then it isn't nearly as bad.
